I was lucky enough to have been asked to attend this years Norwood Fashion and Design Market which is a part of the Adelaide Fashion Festival as an Emerging Designer. The Emerging Designer Hub was placed in the most prime position, right near the FREE fashion show.
I am all about the presentation. Your designs may be beautiful but you have to present them beautifully for your customers. If you take pride in your appearance, designs and presentation, your customers will do the same. I spent weeks curating how I was going to showcase my little booth (I still wish i brought lace curtains with me to add extra beauty) and it was well worth it. I had people come in an say it was "the best one they had seen" that "their eyes kept catching over here and they had to come over" the list goes on. I had compliments on my hand embroidered sign but the biggest eye catcher was my Mina coat in black styled with the Clara dress on my antique look brass mannequin out the front.
I had a little round table placed in the centre at the back, covered in a black and gold lace table cloth with two small antique chairs (because thats all that could fit in the car) with my favourite antique candelabra, my looks books and my iPad which played a slideshow of all the editorial images, look book images and videos.
I styled my mother in the Chastity accessory skirt while I wore the new Almira maxi dress!
All in all I had a great day. I met so many amazing people, got so much amazing feed back and I ran out of all the look books I had on hand for the day! (here's me thinking I had plenty). Thank you to those who stopped by and if you're not from South Australia I hope you enjoy the images of my set up.
